Move On is great. It started with a tiny little effort and made
multiple trys over time. Then it founds its voice.    (01)

There is much to learn from nature. There is the story of Steve
Packard deciding to restore a prairie outside of Chicago. He was the
world's leading expert on prairies and had studied with the founder
of the environmental movement, Leopold. Yet, his prairie would not
grow. He could not get it started. Anyway, Chapter 4 in Out of
Control (http://www.tomorrowmakers.org/outofcontrol/ch_04.html) has a
wonderful set of instructions for assembling complexity.    (02)

Packard learned that the prairie does not have all the answers at
first. It scaffolds and builds thresholds that enable it to move
through phase transitions. Once it has assembled certain things, it
escapes to a higher order and moving into a new phase of
development. So, "and then magic happens" is not a bad metaphor if
one is looking at this phonomen in the right way.    (03)

Birds and insects would not come to the field until the root system
and seeds (which would later die out as not-prairie) and weather did
their thing. Then one day Packard observed the birds and bees had
arrived. It was all about attraction, not selling or pushing.    (04)
