This is not currently the case, but has been discussed and is

The new search model that came out with PurpleWiki 0.9.1 would
allow us to search the mail archives in a fairly straightforward
manner when doing backlink searching. We would need to create a
Namazu search module with the proper config dealies, but that's
straightforward. (04)
It would not be ideal (see below) but would get something akin to
what's desired: when in the wiki you could find email messages
in the archive that contain the current wiki word (or any other

Yes, I very much want to do this, but the current data store of
PurpleWiki is messed up enough that I think it would be wise to
fix that before grafting on active backlink storage. (07)

One issue is how to deal with backlinks generated in other
content that is not parsed by the wiki engine (such as the mail
