"And he must let the world believe that he is dead, until he can find
a cure for the raging beast that dwells within him."
(Voice over on the introduction to the Incredible Hulk TV Series.) (01)
Murray and I made peace a while back. (Everybody dance now.)
And I'd like to thank everybody that offered wisdom behind the
scenes. (02)
I'd also like to reassure folks that I'm not mad, I simply lost my
temper... not slightly, not a little bit, but quite a lot, and over
something stupid. Analysis revealed a pattern. The trigger was
trivial, but a trivial case of a few bigger issues in the past. The
anger was just a little more of the same, only this time it all added
up to enough to generate escape velocity. So an individual previously
seen as phlegmatic can now be ignited. (03)
Oh, how I would love to be able to take that anger and indulge in
trashing military hardware of an afternoon; and to be able to just
slap ignorant, greedy industrialists miles out of the way. Eco-
terrorism done properly, with plenty of non-specific venomous
prejudice, huh?
Certainly anger is a powerful motivator. Could just one person armed
with a big enough temper sort the world out?
Unlikely.
How about a couple of hundred thousand people then? Or a hundred
million?
When did the world last see concerted mass anger in action?
Rwanda? (04)
A little while ago I typed 'anger management' into google and got
380,000 hits. Assuming up 50% of those are discussing the film, that
still leaves 190,000 hits. Those are just for people talking about
and selling 'anger management' services - the tip of the submerged
volcano. Obviously there's quite a ferment out there. (05)
