Hi folks,    (01)

There's an interesting article in this month's MIT Technology Review on
"Extreme Software". One of the threads is about Charles Simonyi (of
PARC/WYSIWYG and Microsoft fame) and what he's trying to create at
Intentional Software...his new software company. The idea as I
understood it is to leverage intuitive interfaces and software/system
modeling tools to allow users and subject matter experts to code their
own systems. The drive is not so much to give the right to program
back to users, but to somehow deal with the complexity of large
software systems and bridge the gap between developers and subject
matter experts.      (03)

The idea is appealing to me as a former computer modeling/simulation
geek and somebody who doesn't consider himself a programmer, and it'll
be interesting to see where it goes.    (04)

Take care,
Miroslav    (05)
