I was referring to the comments section... I don't think that the
comments have the hash marks... The comments are a separate thing from
the blog entry... a separate semantic domain. Blog entries are one
world, comments are another, wiki pages are another, emails another,
mailing lists are another, etc.  These non-connectedness of these things
is the problem we are facing.  The solution is not to build an
"interface" between them all, but rather to create an overarching
umbrella under which they would all live happily ever after...    (01)

Yes there are.  Chris is experimenting with a next generation version
of purple numbers on his blog and Wiki.  It will likely be in an
upcoming version of PurpleWiki.  We've alluded to this feature in past
tools-yak@collab discussions.    (05)

Use the hash marks next to each paragraph.  They work exactly like
regular purple numbers, except the node IDs are document-independent.    (06)
