% Definitely a fair question. (03)
% I use Compendium (actually, I still use its predecessor, QuestMap,
% quite a bit) for three things: (04)
% * Taking shared notes during meetings. When we have teleconferences
% at Blue Oxen, I usually take notes on Compendium. Participants
% see the notes go up live via VNC. I also use Compendium/QuestMap
% a lot for requirements gathering with clients. (05)
I have used subethaedit (formerly Hydra) for this. Shared editing of notes
is a very big win. I don't see how to do it with compendium. But then
again, I am not in a PC world. (06)
% * Group, face-to-face facilitation. I haven't done much of this
% recently, but I think it's wonderful for this. I can't tell you
% how many times I've participated in meetings over the past two
% years and have thought to myself, "These folks need Compendium
% very badly." (07)
Can you explain how it works. (08)
I have a client come in. We talk about what? And that causes what
to show up on the compendium screen? (09)
Specifically, what is the social process that compendium is facilitating? (010)
And how is that different than just writing an outline in an editor? (011)
% * Occasionally for personal note-taking. Usually as a poor man's
% Visio. I mostly use Wikis for personal note-taking, but I find
% the graphical nature of Compendium useful on occasion. (012)
I have started to taking notes about graphical things in graphviz format.
Is it just the node linking that is interesting? (013)
Or is it something else? (014)
