Our very own Danny Ayers wrote an article for XML.com entitled,
"Extending RSS." (01)
http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2003/07/23/extendingrss.html (02)
He explains some of the conceptual underpinnings of RSS 1.0
(i.e. RDF), and his Simple Semantic Resolution (SSR) project. (03)
I found the article very useful, as I recently decided to start
digging into RSS, and found it to be a very messy situation. In
particular, I now have a much better understanding as to why a lot of
people don't like RSS 2.0. A few weeks ago, I asked Kevin Burton (the
creator of the NewsMonster aggregator) what's wrong with RSS 2.0; his
response was: "I think Dave Winer's going insane." (04)

Good gossip, but not that helpful otherwise. :-) (06)
