I continue to give serious consideration to the matter of the Nooron
license. The LGPL and the X11 license are the current contenders, both
being GPL-compatible free software licenses. What with several
categories of the actual runtime user-contributable contents of Nooron
containing executable code, the "strong copyleft" [viral] qualities of
the GPL are beginning to appear to me to be rather too restrictive. (02)

Please expand on this if you mean other than that running modified GPLed code
on a server does not constitute a distribution of that code and hence does not
require (under the GPL) the publication of the modified source.
To be clear (and I apologize for not being so in my previous messaage) GraphViz
is not under the GPL, it is under the AT&T Public License which has problems as
listed here (about 80% down) [oh for purple numbers!]:
